Author of Peck's Bad Boy

Author, Politician, Publisher, and Statesman

M. A. Donohue & Co., Chicago and New York

This publisher printed one George W. Peck title. The book shown is a combination book. This large volume included both Peck's Uncle Ike and the Red Headed Boy as well as Sunbeams. The former book appeared in its entirety with the usual Morgan illustrations. Only 220 pages of Sunbeams is included.

Michael A. Donohue and William Henneberry founded Donohue, Henneberry and Company in 1879. Initially it was exclusively a bookbinder but as time went on it did more and more publishing. As with most of the reprint publishers during this era, a majority of its books were published as parts of publisher's series. In 1900 Donohue bought out Henneberry and formed Donohue Brothers. By 1901 the Donohue Brothers became M. A. Donohue and Company.
