George Peck remained active in local Milwaukee affairs after his political defeat in the 1895 governor’s race. This item shows his involvement in 1895 as one of the Civilian Encampment Officers.

Roland’s book store was located at 625 Penn St. in Reading, Pa.
On these dates in 1895 the Atkinson Comedy Company presented “Peck’s Bad Boy” at the “Grand Opera House”

The Albion Opera House was located in Albion, Michigan. This flyer advertises the Peck’s Bad Boy play. Geo. W. Heath managed this play in the midwest in the 1890’s.

In 1883 Belford, Clarke & Co. published this book which contained 284 stories which had previously been printed in Peck’s Bad Boy, No. 1, Peck’s Bad Boy, No. 2 and Peck’s Fun.

A number of firms which specialized in subscription books also published this volume.
One of those outfits was Forshee & McMakin, a Cincinnati company. Below is a broadside which advertised for agents to sell this volume.

This little 2.5” x 1.75” is an advertising card for Singer Sewing Machines. I have not seen other similar cards but it is probably part of a set that features movie stars.

On this card Jackie Coogan is pictured and several of his starring roles are noted. The latest movie, “Trouble” was released in 1922.
